Spindle’s End

By Robin McKinley

We’ve all heard Sleeping Beauty, the beautiful princess who is hauled off to the forest when an evil witch casts a spell on her. This part is true, but not completely, the fairy tale only tells half the story. What would you say if I told you about the fact that she works in a smithy, keeps her annoying curly blonde hair chopped short to keep it out of the way, and hates prince charming?? Not possible, right? WRONG! Who is the beautiful girl that marries prince charming? You’ll just have to read it! McKinley creates this masterpiece to fit into the Disney version yet still make it into a tale you’ve never even dreamed of! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Harry P. and the Prisoner of Azkaban

by J.K. Rowling
I know what most of you are thinking, "Great! Another idiot raving about those dumb Harry Potter books." Well I may be an idiot, but this book is great. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is by far the best of the Harry Potter Series. Harry finds himself in more trouble than normal when a prisoner of Azkaban is supposedly after him. With the help of Ron and Hermoine, Harry is able to save himself and have a little bit of fun. This not-to-be-missed novel is superb. Easily the best book by JK Rowling so far.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

 by Douglass Adams

This is a captivating little trilogy, only 5 books long (not a typo). It is about Arthur, a normal average human on Earth, finding himself witnessing the end of his world due to a slight mistake of an alien excavation crew. He is transported onto a space ship by his best friend, who has always been slightly odd and happens to be an Betelgusian. Arthur finds himself forced into a culture that he knows nothing about, his only guide is a book called the Hitchhiker's Guid to the Galaxy. This plot can be extremely hard to understand if you have no sense of humor. It has a lot of twists and turns and really makes you think. Just remember one thing: DON'T PANIC.
